About

I’m the Events Coordinator for RiverRun Bookstore in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I live and breathe for books, hence the name of this blog.  Literary fiction is my favorite, but I also love poetry, creative nonfiction, and short stories.

I’m also a freelance writer and a member of the National Book Critics Circle. I’ve written for The Star Tribune, The Brooklyn Rail, CBS News, Bookslut, Identity Theory, The Book Studio and The Quarterly Conversation.

I’ve just spent an hour on your blog – love, love, love it! I haven’t made my way through many blogs other than Maud…but judging by yours, I have been missing out. I long to connect with other like minded compulsive readers. I do have my beloved book group friends but frankly, we spend 3/4 of our meetings discussing politics, gossiping and talking about our kids and education. I do have one or two friends equally devoted to reading, reviewing and collecting books but I need more! I frequent Nantucket Bookworks which I see on your sidebar but I am compelled to take the list of half a dozen of the books I’ve jotted down from your blog, and go to RiverRun’s new site and purchase them. Kudos to you. You’ve also inspired me to join Twitter – the more book related chatting (twittering?!), the better!

    Margaret,

Thanks for your kind comments! I hope you continue to support your local indie bookstore- Wendy is an incredible bookseller! But it’s nice of you to support RiverRun Bookstore as well. I’m glad you like this blog.
